Read on and find out what makes the Revolutionary Freepour™ stand head and shoulders above its outdated rival.
The Freepour™ is the brainchild of Paul Martin, multi award winning mixologist, best selling author and twice Guinness Book of Records world speed cocktail mixing record holder. It was prior to Pauls' last world record attempt in Russia that he developed a prototype that eradicated the inconsistent pouring, the air locking and the general inability of the old design to deal with heavy juices and purees. This prototype was instrumental in helping Paul to set a new world speed record and consequently became the blueprint for the Freepour™.
As speed is not only important when you’re trying to mix 196 cocktails in an hour, but also in all busy venues, Paul’s creation focussed on delivering speed, efficiency and most importantly, reliability. For the first time there was a pourer that guarantees a perfect pour every time.
However, during the development of the Freepour™, Paul took the opportunity to deal with some other age-old problems.......
Traditionally, juice pouring bottles come primarily as a 4-part kit. The clip-in spout, neck, bottle body and the base/lid, all of which needed a 21st century tweak.
Starting with the neck and spout, it was clear to Pauls' professional eye there were a few things that needed to be addressed...
· The air intake hole, which has traditionally been situated by the spout, is commonly prone to clogging and air locking, resulting in stalled, unpredictable and inconsistent pouring. This was the first and arguably the most important design feature to be built into the Freepour™. The clever and discreet relocation of this simple but essential feature to the shoulder of the bottle, now guarantees a perfect, smooth, consistent pour, each and every time, not only when pouring juices but also creams and fruit purees.
· The brittle plastic clip-in pour spout was next on Pauls' design “hit list”. The clip-in pour spout makes for awkward cleaning, being necessary to remove, clean and then attempt, with varying degrees of success, to get it back in the neck. In particular the difficulty in cleaning the air-intake hole resulted in a negative impact on the pour and a catalogue of health & safety issues. One of the reasons the spout is a clip-in spare part is that being made from a brittle plastic it is prone to breaking easily if dropped or knocked. The Freepour™ has a one piece neck and spout making cleaning as easy as popping it straight into a dishwasher. Gone are the days of having your spouts soaking overnight in a pint of soda! To combat the breakage, a less brittle plastic has been chosen to create the combined neck and angled spout. It does not break when in use; more than handy if you choose to flair with the Freepour™.
· The neck has been re-shaped to comfortably fit the hand and is finished with a textured grip, allowing for confident consistent use. Indeed, the grip improves under wet conditions.
The bottle body was next in Pauls' crosshairs...
· Previous store ‘n’ pour style bottles traditionally hold 1 US quart, which is just 0.95L - a poorly thought out design for the UK - which meant every 1L carton of juice opened had an unacceptable wastage level with 50ml of juice being thrown away each and every time. The Freepour™ has a 1.08L capacity, more than enough to cope with a litre juice carton - no more wasted juice or lost profits!
· The straight sides of the store ‘n’ pour style bottles flex with ease, often leading to leakage at the neck/body join and also creating a messy fill process when attempting to screw the neck back on to the body. The Freepour ™ has been re-shaped and features a rigid bottle body that has been "waisted." This helps prevent slipping through the hand and adds strength and rigidity which stops the body flexing and eliminates leakages
The Freepour™ is the first store ‘n’ pour style bottle to be designed by an industry professional for use in the busiest of bars. We are convinced once you have used the Freepour™ you will never use the old style bottle again.
